fireworksHappy New Year! We’re still maintaining the tradition of information publishing where we inform you about our website and what we went through in the last year. We’re also publishing our favorite compilation of fireworks display around the world after the whole world celebrated New Years Eve, and you can watch the Fireworks around the globe in 2013 New Years Eve videos bellow. The compilation video will be changed to a better video if it gets published in the meantime.

As most of our regular readers know, we went though some hardship in November 2011 when Google Adsense decided to terminate our agreement. In meantime, we partnered with PulsePoint, Advertising.com, Technorati and the most recent addition – Commission Junction. We’re thankful for their cooperation and we’re still looking for partners that could be used to cater our worldwide visitors.

We are glad that the quality of our articles is recognized by increased number of visitors as well as by references from many popular websites, reputable universities and companies. We would like to thank them for their cooperation and fast responses. We would also like to thank to Sonja and Maja who contributed with articles from their niche, as well as to all of our readers who recommended our website to their friends and associates.

Naturally, we paid a lot of attention to our website performance and optimization, although advert serving from our partners did slow it down from time to time. The latest approach allows the adverts to be loaded in the background, thus enabling fast page serving to our readers.

Near the end of the year, our website got marked for serving malware which was related to an advertiser, we reacted within an hour and waited for a checkup and clearance 6 hours later. We apologize for any inconvenience this event might have caused.

If you enlarged our article images, you may have noticed we added Pin it! button which allows you to bookmark interesting images onto Pinterest. Our sidebar became more dynamic since it provides additional information about more articles and news from the same category, and we hope you like this feature which was introduced in the last year. We hope that you like the changes, and that you value our effort to increase the usability, safety and website loading speed.

We’re looking for ways to return e-mail subscription to our newsletter, as well as notifications about replies in our comments. Any information about our previous members or subscribers has been deleted to insure the safety of their privacy.

Here are the numbers for those who like statistics. We published over 230 news and articles in 2012. The number of visitors did drop after publishing pauses in February and July, but it is steadily rising, currently ranging from 1,800 to 8,500 unique visitors per day. The total of unique visitors ranged from a bit over 18,000 in January, to almost 56,000 per month in the middle of the year. Year totals for 2012 are 684,300 for visits, and 3,770,136 for page views.
